Orlando, FL : Two people dead in wrong-way crash Interstate 4 on Friday March 11 2016
Two people are dead after a crash involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 4 overnight.For hours, all westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down at Sand Lake Road. The crash happened near mile marker 73 in Orlando around 3:30 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a green 2000 Honda van heading east in the westbound lanes of I-4 near Sand Lake Road collided head-on with a 2007 Toyota taxi.
According to FHP, the driver of the Honda van had a bottle of Hennessy in the passenger seat next to him.Troopers identified the driver of the Honda as Fernando Clemente III, 44, of Orlando. The taxi driver was identified as Harold Fabre, 39, of Orlando.
After the crash, westbound traffic was being forced to exit I-4 at Sand Lake Road, but all lanes have since reopened.
