Des Moines,IA : Iowa woman dies in head-on collision, Iowa State Patrol says on may, Tuesday 30th 2017

A Coon Rapids woman has died following a head-on collision in Carroll County, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

The report said the crash happened just south of the intersection of Highway 71 and 250th Street around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said 57-year-old Linda Smith died when her car went over the center line and hit a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Corie Walsh.

Smith died at the scene; Walsh suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
