Morrow County, OR : Philomath man died after a fiery crash on Interstate 84 west of Boardman on Friday, December 4, 2015

A Philomath man died after a fiery crash Friday on Interstate 84 west of Boardman, Oregon State Police said.

The body of Keith O. Carney, 34, was recovered from a 1985 Chevrolet pickup on the interstate near milepost 154 at around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The vehicle had been heading east before leaving the road, traveling more than 400 feet and crashing into a boulder, according to authorities, who said the car was "fully engulfed in fire" when emergency crews reached the scene. Authorities have not determined why the truck left the road.

Boardman Fire and Ambulance, Morrow County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation also joined state police at the crash site.
