Monett, MO : Springfield man hurt in truck crash near Mt. Vernon on Monday, March 6, 2017

A Springfield man received minor injuries in a tractor-trailer crash a quarter mile east of Mt. Vernon on Monday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Daniel Cummings, 65, was driving west in a 2013 Kenworth tractor-trailer at 10:59 p.m. when his vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a bridge and guard rail. The truck came to rest down an embankment.

Cox was transported to Cox Hospital South in Springfield for treatment, he was wearing a safety belt. The tractor trailer was totaled, the Patrol reported.
