4 Ejected, 2 Killed in Monroe County Georgia
An early morning accident on a stretch of Monroe County interstate killed two and sent two other passengers to the hospital.The one vehicle accident happened on I-75 northbound near Pate Road in Monroe County shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.The investigation shows the right rear tire of a white Ford Crown Victoria blew, causing the car to pull right towards the emergency lane. The driver, 20-year-old Eddrick Deon Goddard, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip several times before landing upside down in the median.There were three passengers with Goddard. 30-year-old Shavar Antwon Traylor, 20-year-old Reginal Arneze Patterson, Jr. and 22-year-old Jarvis Terrell Dumas were all ejected from the vehicle, along with Goddard.Patterson and Dumas were pronounced dead at the scene while Goddard and Traylor were taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with non-life threatening injuries.Investigators tell WGXA that none of the four passengers were wearing seat belts.
