Green River, UT : Paradise woman, 23, dies in chain of crashes in Emery County on Friday night, July 1, 2016

A 23-year-old woman from Paradise, Cache County, was killed in a chain of crashes 4 miles west of Green River Friday night, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The woman was identified as Cali Trunnell, the UHP said.

According to the UHP, Trunnell's car was struck by a pickup truck pulling a boat that had swerved to avoid a tire and rim that had come off a Jeep also traveling along U.S. 6 shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.

This impact pushed Trunnell's vehicle off the highway onto the eastbound shoulder.

Olivia Trunnell, 14, of Paradise, who was a passenger in Trunnell's car, was transported by medical helicopter to Utah Valley Hospital for treatment of a broken nose and bruising, according to a UHP report.

Another passenger car swerved to avoid collision with the other vehicles and side-swiped the pickup truck, the UHP said.

There were no other injuries in the crash, troopers said.
