Fairfax VA : Three Fairfax roommates killed in Maryland crash Tuesday afternoon May 13th 2014.

The bodies of three men reported missing from Fairfax County on Sunday have been found in Maryland. They were discovered Tuesday afternoon in the wreckage of a car crash in Timonium.

Twenty-five-year-old Moka Mallikarjun, 24-year-old Sharath Sudershanam and 23-year-old Vignesh Ashokan died after the 2012 Volvo S60 owned and driven by Mallikarjun went off the ramp between Interstates 83 and 695 and hit a tree.

Police say the force of the crash broke the car into several pieces.

The crash site was far off the roadway and hidden by trees and brush. The wreckage and the men's bodies weren’t seen for two days.

Police say a driver reported what he thought was part of a vehicle, and after troopers walked back into the woods, they found the crash site.

Santhosh Bura is the victims' roommate. He says he had reported the men missing when they failed to return home, but never imagined they met such an awful fate.

He says his roommates came to the United States from India.

Sudershanam and Ashokan were in a Master’s program at Virginia International University and Mallikarjun worked at a software company.

Bura says the men had very few family members here, and the news of their death has been too much for their parents and relatives in India to handle.
