Northeast Miami-Dade, FL : Driver ejected from vehicle after multi-vehicle crash Monday evening on September 8, 2014

A multi-vehicle crash Monday evening sent one person to the hospital after she was ejected from her vehicle, and the driver responsible is still on the loose. The three vehicle crash occurred at 183rd Street and Northeast 18th Avenue in Northeast Miami-Dade shortly after 8:30 p.m. As of 10:30 p.m., all lanes were shutdown. According to officials, the suspect fled on foot after their black Mercedes struck a silver Toyota and then a black tow truck. Witnesses said they saw the Mercedes speeding in an attempt to catch a red light. A woman was then ejected from the Toyota when the Mercedes collided into it. She was then run over once when she was on the pavement. She is currently in critical condition but the extent of her injuries are unknown. After the crash, the driver of the Mercedes did stop to check on the driver of the tow truck. "He asked if I was OK," he said. " The driver of the tow truck focused his attention on the woman and did not notice the driver of the Mercedes leave. "I can't say I seen him," he said. "I was so focused on the girl that was laying down on the floor. She wasn't breathing so I don't know. I hope she's OK." Source : Driver ejected from vehicle after multi-vehicle crash
