Phoenix, AZ : Woman crashes car into canal after near 99th Avenue and Thomas Road on early Tuesday morning July 22nd 2014

Police are asking for help in an alleged assault that landed a woman's car in a Valley canal.

The driver, Jessica Florez, allegedly beat her boyfriend with a stick in a Phoenix neighborhood and was leaving the scene when she hit another vehicle and crashed into the canal near 99th Avenue and Thomas Road about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

She was able to get out of the car and then the driver of the car she hit helped her out of the water.

Authorities said they have not located Florez.
