Las Vegas, NV : Bicyclist injured after being hit by a vehicle in the west valley onTuesday, April 26th, 2016

A bicyclist suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in the west valley this morning, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. on Alta Drive, between Rainbow Boulevard and Buffalo Drive, police said.

The bicyclist was taken to University Medical Center, police said.

Alta Drive was shut down in both directions, police said.
