Lumberton, TX : Woman dies after crash with police car in Lumberton on Thursday night, February 18, 2016

A 22-year-old driver from Thicket died Thursday night after she turned in front of a Lumberton police vehicle, causing a collision, according to information from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At about 10 p.m., Janet Marie Lowe was stopped in the northbound turning lane at the intersection of U.S. 96 and West Chance Cutoff Road in Lumberton when she made the turn in front of southbound patrol car, which hit her in the passenger door.
Justice of the Peace Melissa Minton pronounced Lowe dead at the scene.
Officer John Ware sustained a broken foot, cuts and bruises. He is recovering at a Beaumont hospital, according to DPS.
