Charleston ,SC :15-year-old boy on skateboard killed in crash on Saturday night,September 12th 2015

The person hit and killed by a car Saturday night on James Island was a 15-year-old boy on a skateboard.

The coroner's office identified the boy as Gabriel Seagraves.

Charleston police say the accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Mapelton Drive and Secessionville Lane. Seagraves was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina where he later died.

Police say no charges have been filed against the driver.

Officials are still investigating the incident and said they had not determined the cause of the accident.

Gabriel’s brother Sebastian, 16, said a lot of kids often skate down that road to get to school and friends’ houses.
