STATEN ISLAND, NY : Motorcycle accident in Sunnyside on April, Saturday 29th 2017

A source with knowledge of the incident has identified the man who died in a Saturday night motorcycle accident in Sunnyside as Jose Gonzalez.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist collided with a sedan near the intersection of Clove Road and Bard Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to police.

When authorities arrived on the scene, the victim was unconscious and unresponsive, according to a written statement from the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

He was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, where he was pronounced dead.
