Pompano Beach, FL : One person died in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash Monday on Federal Highway on Monday, June 13, 2016

One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Pompano Beach on Monday, authorities said.

A portion of Federal Highway near McNab Road was closed to traffic for part of the day after the 11:30 a.m. crash in the 1600 block, said Joy Oglesby, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The identity of the person who died has not been disclosed.

The chain-reaction crash began when a Honda, headed southbound on Federal Highway, lost control and crossed the median hitting a Nissan SUV, which careened into a tanker truck, Oglesby said.
