BLOUNTSTOWN, FL : 1 person dead, 3 seriously injured near Mile Marker 140 in Jackson County on Saturday, 30th November, 2019

A two-car wreck on Interstate 10 on Saturday left one person dead and three people seriously injured, authorities say.

The accident occurred near Mile Marker 140 in Jackson County at about 6:20 p.m.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, a 2004 Honda Accord driven by 26-year-old Katherine Foley of St. Augustine was heading west in the left lane when the car drifted slightly off the road.

Foley overcorrected and the car lurched to the right, striking the left rear of a westbound 2005 Nissan Rogue being driven by 51-year-old Kelley Phillmon of Alford.

The Rogue spun out of control and went into the median where it overturned, throwing Phillmon from the vehicle.

Three passengers in the Rogue, 38-year-old Tiffany Taylor of Altha, 6-year-old Joseph Jeter of Altha, and 27-year-old Cameron McClendon of Marianna, were seriously injured. A fourth passenger, a female whose age was not given, was uninjured.
