Authorities in southeast Ohio say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a police cruiser responding to a call.
Ohio State Highway Patrol officials in Marietta are investigating the fatal crash that killed 28-year-old Aaron Fulton. Officials say a sergeant with the Washington County Sheriff's office was responding to an emergency call while driving southbound on state Route 7 around 9:45 p.m. Monday when the cruiser struck the pedestrian in the roadway.
Fulton, of Marietta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sergeant was transported to a local hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.
Officials say the crash remains under investigation.
