Montrose, IA : One killed in accident on Peach Orchard Road on Sunday, 23rd February, 2020

One person is dead after an accident early Sunday morning on Peach Orchard Road near Montrose.

First Responders were called at 3:37 a.m. Sunday to the 2400 block of Peach Orchard Road for what was first reported as a possible brush fire, according to a press released from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found a vehicle in a nearby wooded area, adjacent to the roadway, that had been involved in an accident.

The cause of the accident has not been determined and the name of the individual killed in the accident has not yet been released.
