2-car crash with critical injuries closes Ballard Bridge on Saturday, November 19th 2016
Numerous broadcast outlets on Saturday night reported that paramedics treated five occupants of a two-car crash on the Ballard Bridge and sent all of them to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, with three in critical condition.
The other two occupants were said to be in stable condition.
This contradicted an earlier Seattle Fire tweet in which only four occupants were said to have been involved, with three sent to Harborview, but a serious collision on a busy bridge during a rainy night often results in fractured and piecemeal reports.
The bridge was closed and the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advised all traffic to avoid the area. The bridge reopened about 7 a.m. Sunday.
The crash apparently occurred around 9:20 p.m. Saturday.
