Van Wert County, OH : Three people were injured in crash when a driver failed to stop on Wednesday July 30th 2014

Three people were injured Wednesday night in Van Wert County when a driver failed to stop, according to a statement released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Police say 17-year-old Scott Cowling of Van Wert Ohio, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a car driven by 64-year-old Susan Applegate, from Harlan hitting the passenger side. Due to the extent of the injuries to 64-year-old Jeffrey Applegate, the passenger in Applegate’s car, he was flown from the Van Wert County Hospital to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan.

Cowling’s car overturned in the crash.

Police say they do not believe alcohol to be a factor and everyone was wearing their seat belts.

Injury reports were not available on the three.
