SPARTANBURG, SC : Two arrested after shots fired, wild crash in Spartanburg on Saturday, 29th October 2016

Two people were arrested after a shooting and car crash in Spartanburg early Saturday morning, according to investigative reports.

Police said they were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of West Crescent and John B White Sr. Boulevard around 3 a.m.

Officers said they heard about twenty gunshots before arriving at the scene of the crash, where they found an overturned 2004 Mitsubishi Gallant had knocked down street signs and destroyed a stone wall. No one was in the car at the time but the car had bullet holes on the driver’s side.

Officers later found two people who admitted to being in the car. Both had active warrants and were taken into custody.

Police said 21-year-old Donchevell Briggs was taken into custody on outstanding warrants from the county.

Shagnes Holmes-Robinson initially have officers a false name in hopes of avoiding arrest but was later taken to jail after being treated at the hospital when officers said they learned her true identity.

According to the Spartanburg County jail website, Holmes-Robinson is charged with a municipal bench warrant, possession of marijuana, and false info to police. Briggs’ charges were not listed but the website showed he had been arrested and was incarcerated as of Monday morning.
