Verdigris ,OK : 18-year-old Claremore woman Killed and another critically injured after struck by pickup while walking along county road on Friday ,June 5th 2015

An 18-year-old Claremore woman was killed and a 19-year-old woman was critically injured when they were struck by a pickup truck while walking along a county road near Verdigris.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Noelle New was dead at the scene just north of Verdigris early Friday morning and Maranda Talley was hospitalized.

An OHP report says the two were walking in the eastbound lane of the road between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Friday when they were struck by a westbound truck that crossed the centerline. The report says the driver of the truck left the scene.

The report says the truck and driver believed to have been involved was later found at a nearby home.
