Early morning crash involving multiple vehicles
A large crash involving multiple vehicles shut down a busy Northern Kentucky interstate early Wednesday morning.9 On Your Side was the first on the scene after a semi truck overturned and landed across I-71/75 southbound at the Mount Zion Road exit.
It happened just before 4 a.m."It's just unbelievable how it all happened. It could've been a lot worse out here," said truck driver Mickey Perry.Police say wet roads sparked a chain reaction of crashes involving one car and five semi trucks.I-71/75 southbound was reduced to one lane for about three hours. Police then shut down the interstate while crews worked to remove the overturned truck.Perry was involved in the accident, along with two other semi trucks."I drive over 3,000 miles a week, this is what I do, this is my office. My desk and my chair is right out here.
I see people all the time, they don't take these roads serious, and at the blink of an eye, you've got to make a drastic decision about what you're going to do," he said. His truck crashed near a rest stop. Perry says everyone should take the weather seriously.
