A 53-year-old man was airlifted Wednesday after a crash at 840th Avenue and 240th Street, just north of Renville.

Joey Ross, of Renville, was transported to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.

Ross was in stable condition Wednesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 3:20 p.m., Duane Baalson, 62, of Sacred Heart, had been driving a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban west on 840th Avenue.

Failing to yield at a yield sign, he crashed into a 1993 Chevrolet Astro Van, driven by Ross, that was being towed by a 1994 Chevrolet Astro Van, driven by Quentin Keehl, 57, of Renville, with passenger Dean Nepsund, 53, of Renville.

Ross was ejected from the vehicle. No one else was injured, the Sheriff’s Office said. It is continuing to investigate the crash, but believes Ross and Keehl had not been wearing seatbelts, the news release stated.
