MARION COUNTY, FL : A man was killed and two people were injured in a crash in Marion County on February, Monday 12th 2018

A man was killed and two people were injured in a crash in Marion County on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened around noon. A 2013 silver Mercedes-Benz was westbound on County Road 42, just east of SE 130 Avenue.

A 2007 silver Toyota 4Runner was eastbound on County Road 42.

The Mercedes-Benz crossed the center line, colliding head-on with the Toyota 4Runner.

After the collision, both vehicles spun and ended up blocking both lanes of County Road 42, according to the FHP.

Both vehicles caught fire.

Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and extinguished the fires.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, Jason Burridge, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue personnel.

The driver and passenger in the 4Runner were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center and are listed in serious condition.
