Bridport, VT : Woman injured in Bridport crash on Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2016

A Bridport woman was injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon.

Vermont State Police say Amanda Sayers, 41, was headed east on Crown Point Road in Bridport at about 2 p.m. when she lost control, went off the road and hit a tree.

Getting Sayers out of her pickup was a challenge; rescue crews had to extricate her out the back due to her injuries. She was rushed to the hospital in Burlington with a broken leg and foot. She's expected to be OK.

Police say defective rear tires on the truck contributed to the crash, but it's still under investigation. They say Sayers was wearing her seat belt and the truck's airbags deployed.

One lane of Crown Point Road was closed as police investigated the crash.
