Columbus,OH : Child, 4, killed in 'horrific' Northern Kentucky crash ID'd on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018

A child died Wednesday evening after a broken down vehicle was struck from behind in Northern Kentucky on Interstate 275, authorities said.

The child was believed to be outside of the vehicle during the crash, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened in the emergency lane of the eastbound side of I-275 at approximately 6:30 p.m., east of Ky. 16 on a bridge crossing the Licking River. The crash was not far from the exit to Wilder and the AA Highway.

According to a news release from Taylor Mill Police, Megan Ritter, of Kenton County, had a broken down vehicle in the emergency lane of the more than quarter-mile bridge that spans the Licking River.
