WICHITA, KS : 11-year-old Kansas boy among three killed in K-96 crash on Friday, 13th September 2024

The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the three people killed in a crash on K-96 on Friday night.

The patrol says just before 7:30 p.m., a 2014 Dodge Durango was eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-96 near 13th when it collided head-on with a 2019 Ram 1500. The impact caused the Ram to spin around and strike a third vehicle, a 2011 Ram 2500.

The Ram 1500 was engulfed in flames and came to rest on the north shoulder of K96 on its wheels. The Dodge Durango came to rest in the first lane of westbound K96. The impact from the second vehicle into the third vehicle, the Ram 1500 into the Ram 2500, caused the trailer to be torn off the hitch.
