NEWBURG, WV : One dead one injured in on Monday, November 21st, 2016
One driver was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle collision the afternoon of Nov. 21 on W.Va. 92.
State Police said a red, 2006 Dodge pickup with Ohio registration and a 2013 Ford box truck carrying tires collided head-on while on W.Va. 92 above Scotch Hill Road, south of Newburg, at 12:42 p.m. W.Va. 92 is also known as North Mountaineer Highway.
The driver of the pickup was killed. State Police are withholding the driver’s name until next of kin are notified.
The driver of the delivery truck was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The truck was owned by Import-Export Tire Company of Latrobe, Pa.
Route 92 was closed for about two hours, while the drivers were removed from their vehicles. Senior Trooper A.R. Leach is the investigating officer.
Newburg, Fellowsville and Tunnelton Volunteer Fire Departments, and KAMP and Mountaineer Ambulances, assisted at the scene.
