Stuttgart, AR : A motor vehicle accident in Stuttgart on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018
A motor vehicle accident resulted in one fatality on the 2800 block of S. Main St. in Stuttgart on Wednesday, May 2 at 1:30 p.m. According to Stuttgart Police Department Ptl. Officer Jennifer Crossett, a silver 2016 Ram 2500 truck driven by 70-year-old white male Harry Phelps of Humphrey was traveling north on South Main St. and Mark Lee Anderson, 54-year old white male of Stuttgart was traveling south on South Main Street on his black 2014 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. According to the Stuttgart Police Department motor vehicle crash report, the Ram 2500 truck started to turn into the driveway of Arkansas County Farm Bureau at 2704 S Main crossing into the path of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle, colliding head-on.
First responders were dispatched to the scene, which according to the Stuttgart Fire Department report; upon arrival, the paramedics made contact with Anderson who was alert but disoriented at times. Trauma assessments were performed and med-flight services were notified. A landing zone for the helicopter was set up by the Fire Department, which arrived to transport Anderson to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock. Anderson later passed away as a result of the accident.
