Chicago, IL : 10-year-old Chicago boy killed in minivan crash on Saturday December 5 2015
Police say a 10-year-old Chicago boy was killed when a minivan he was a passenger in struck a viaduct support beam on the city's southwest side.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the victim as Carlos Rodriguez. Police say a 32-year-old man was driving and the boy and a 13-year-old girl were passengers when the crash occurred about 4:10 a.m. Saturday.
All three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the boy was pronounced dead. The man was in serious condition and the girl's condition was stabilized.
Police are investigating the crash.
