Springfield, IL : Fatal motorcycle crash in Pike County on Saturday, March 18th 2017

Illinois State Police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash in Pike County around 12:00 Saturday afternoon.According to a news release from the Illinois State Police, 49-year-old Andrew L. Grimsley of New Canton, IL was traveling southbound on IL Route 96 on a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle.Grimsley then ran off the left-hand side of the roadway about two miles south of Kinderhook and overturned several times.Authorities say the cause of the accident is improper lane usage and speeding.
Grimsley suffered fatal injuries.
Other assisting agencies include Pike County Sheriff’s Dept., Pike County Coroner, Pike County Ambulance, Kinderhook Fire/Rescue and New Canton Fire.
