A 58-year-old woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning, July 20, in a crash on Antelope Drive.

Sgt. John Holden with the Layton City Police Department said a Nissan Altima was driving east on Antelope Drive when it was struck by a GMC pickup traveling south on Fairfield Road, pushing the Altima into a Jeep Cherokee. Police first received reports of the crash at 7:07 a.m., Holden said.

The female driver of the Altima was airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City with a serious head injury, Holden said. Her 56-year-old female passenger was transported by ambulance to Davis Hospital and Medical Center with minor injuries.

Holden said the drivers of the other vehicles were not injured. They had no passengers.

The crash closed Fairfield Road from Antelope Drive to Church Street, and Holden said he expected the road would be reopened by about 10:30 a.m.

As of Wednesday morning the cause of the crash was not known.
