ST. GEORGE, SC : Police pursuit ends in crash in St George on Thursday, 21st March 2024

Police say the driver of a vehicle was airlifted to a hospital Thursday night after he led police on a pursuit in St. George.
Acting Police Chief Adam Dunaway said an officer attempted a stop on a vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. on Highway 15 but said the driver did not stop. After a chase that lasted approximately five miles on Highway 15, the driver collided with a tractor-trailer at Highway 178.
The driver was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment and at last word was said to be in stable condition, Dunaway said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
