Abilene,TX : Two die, two injured in two-vehicle crash in Fisher County on January, Friday 26th 2018
A two-vehicle crash early Friday killed two people in Fisher County.
Cruz Fernandez-Valles, 42, of Munday, and James Nathan Pierce, 45, of Haskell were passengers in a pickup that collided just after 7 a.m. with a Ford Explorer on FM 57 less than a half-mile from McCaulley.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2008 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jose E. Castorena, 51, of Knox City was southbound on the farm-to-market road when the northbound SUV drifted into its lane. The vehicles hit head-on in the center of the road, the DPS reported.
Fernandez-Valles and Pierce were pronounced dead at the scene.
Castorena was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with non-incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the SUV, David W. Wilcox, 22 of Hamlin also was taken to Hendrick with serious injuries.
None of the four wore a seat belt, the DPS reported.
It was raining and the road was wet, according to the DPS.
