A woman was fatally struck Monday night in a hit-and-run crash.
Ella Sharlene Whitfield, 54, was walking south on Glenhaven Drive near Cliffwood Drive when a vehicle hit her about 9:15 p.m., police said.
Whitfield was able to walk to her house nearby and was then taken to Moses Cone Hospital by EMS, police said. She later died at the hospital from her injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash and do not have information on the vehicle.
