Troopers confirmed a pedestrian died in a Spartanburg County wreck early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at 12:10 a.m. on Union Street.
According to troopers, a car was traveling west on Union Street when it struck a pedestrian traveling north.
The pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. The coroner identified this victim as 32-year-old Timothy Lee Mitchell of Caulder Avenue in Spartanburg.
The driver was not injured, said troopers.
The accident was one of two in the Upstate that involved pedestrians overnight.
In Greenville County, a man who was pushing another man in a wheelchair died after being struck by an SUV while crossing Woodruff Road near Butler Road late Friday night.
Both accidents are under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
