Aurora, CO : Two people killed in head-on collision on East Sixth Avenue in Aurora on Saturday morning, April 2, 2016
A head-on collision Saturday morning, April 2, killed two people and seriously injured another person.
Aurora police were called to East Sixth Avenue between Picadilly and Tower roads about 8:40 a.m. after a silver sedan traveling eastbound crossed over the middle lane and struck a black SUV in the westbound lane, according to APD Sgt. Chris Carleton.
One person in the sedan was killed on the scene, while two others in the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital – one of them later died, according to a tweet from Aurora Fire Rescue.
The driver of the SUV was also taken to a local hospital. The identities of those involved in the crash have not been released as of this time.
Carleton said there is “no indication of any criminal activity” in the crash at this point in the investigation.
The area of the crash at Sixth Avenue and Tower Road was closed for most of the morning hours Saturday as investigators worked to clear the scene.
