ST. MATTEWS, SC : Highway Patrol says 2 killed in Calhoun County wreck on Sunday, January 1st 2017

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people were killed in a wreck in Calhoun County.
The wreck happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
Coroner Donny Porth said the victims were 22-year-old Ernesha Brown of St. Matthews and 4-month-old Cyrus Hudson. Porth says both died from trauma from the wreck.
Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins said Brown’s sports utility vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. Collins says none of the three people in the SUV was wearing a seat belt.
Hudson and Brown died at a hospital. There was no word on the condition of the third person in the vehicle.
Troopers are still investigating the wreck.
