PEORIA, AZ : 1 dead, 1 hospitalized after two separate motorcycle crashes in Phoenix metro on Saturday, 3rd February 2024

Two separate motorcycle crashes this Saturday afternoon have one rider in the hospital in Peoria and another dead in Gilbert.

Police in Peoria say the crash happened on 107th Avenue south of Deer Valley Road. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet when the crash happened and was taken to a hospital. The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene to speak with police. Police don’t know if speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Police say that 107th Avenue will be closed from Deer Valley to Beardsley roads as they investigate.

Police in Gilbert say a motorcycle crash happened around 1:30 p.m. near Higley and Germann roads. Gilbert Fire & Rescue paramedics tried to save the motorcycle rider’s life, but he died on the scene. Police are looking into what led to the crash, and the intersection will be closed while the department’s Traffic Reconstruction Team investigates. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police say.
