Nashville, TN : Homeless man killed after being hit while crossing Murfreesboro Pike on Thursday night, February 5, 2015
A homeless man was hit and killed by a truck in south Nashville Thursday night.
It happened on Murfreesboro Road atParris Avenue at 6:40 p.m. as the victim, Bryant Crenshaw, was crossing the street.
Crenshaw, 42, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the white 1997 Ford Ranger who hit Crenshaw, 51-year-old Allen Brown, remained on the scene with Metro police.
Brown told officers a vehicle just ahead of him to his left swerved to avoid Crenshaw but he was unable to do the same. He was ultimately cited for not having proof of insurance.
Police said Crenshaw was not at an intersection when he was hit while attempting to cross the street.
