A mother and daughter died when their car was involved in an eight-vehicle accident near Lake Ozark in central Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 54 in Miller County when a semi-trailer truck rear-ended a car, which caused a chain reaction involving the other vehicles.

The victims, Robin Dinwiddle, 50, and her daughter, Kenda O'Leary, 27, both of Eldon, died at the scene. They were in the car rear-ended by the semi-trailer truck.

Four other people, including the first truck driver, were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to serious.
