MALHEUR COUNTY, OR : State police name 2 deceased in crash on Tuesday, 2nd January 2018
A Fruitland man was one of two who walked away unscathed from a crash which resulted in the death of two commercial vehicle drivers, both from Oregon, on U.S. Highway 20 morning.
A news release from Oregon State Police states that its preliminary investigation revealed a white 2016 Kenworth commercial truck and semitrailer operated by Brian Brunscher, 37, of Springfield, was traveling eastbound on the highway, when for an unknown reason it entered the westbound lane of travel. This was in the oncoming path of an orange 2015 Freightliner commercial truck and trailer operated by James Shorten, 55, of Portland that was traveling westbound, the release states.
