SEQUIM, WA : Motorcyclist in Sequim collision listed as satisfactory on Thursday, October 5, 2017
A motorcyclist was listed in satisfactory condition at a Seattle hospital Thursday after he was hurt in a collision with a truck driver.
Sequim resident Samuel Barcklow, 27, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after the wreck Tuesday.
Police said Barcklow was traveling eastbound on West Washington Street on his motorcycle when he was hit by Joseph Schroeder, 43, driving a white Ford truck coming across onto 14th Avenue, next to the River Road roundabout, a little before 4 p.m.
Sequim Police Sgt. Dave Campbell said the truck driver did not see the motorcyclist when the two vehicles collided.
“It appeared to be a legitimate accident in every sense of the word,” Campbell said.
Campbell said no criminal charges would be recommended.
Emergency responders tended to Barcklow, who sustained non-life-threatening leg injuries, according to police. The truck driver was uninjured.
Sequim police said no drugs or alcohol were involved. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and the truck driver was wearing a seat belt.
