Cambridge, OH : A two-vehicle crash on Cadiz Road on May, Monday, 15th 2017
The Cambridge post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a pair of injury accidents during a 16-hour span that started with a two-vehicle crash on Cadiz Road at approximately 8:40 a.m. Monday morning.
The second accident was reported on Interstate 77 at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday morning.
In all, six people reportedly suffered minor injuries in the two accidents.
It was not known as of press time if any of the injured motorists were transported to local hospitals. A dispatcher at the Cambridge post said no additional information regarding either accident was available from the patrol as of press time.
According to a dispatch log at the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders were dispatched to King's Hill on Cadiz Road (U.S. 22) at 8:40 a.m. Monday after a truck and a passenger vehicle collided.
Both vehicles reportedly came to rest off the side of the roadway.
Members of the Antrim Community Volunteer Fire Department, Old Washington Volunteer Fire Department, United Ambulance and the highway patrol responded to the scene.
The report at the sheriff's office indicated the commercial truck was owned by Wampum.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle reportedly suffered minor injuries. It was not known as of press time if the truck driver was injured.
Emergency crews remained at the scene until just before 10 a.m.
The second accident at 12:41 a.m. today occurred on I-77 near mile post 52 involving a southbound vehicle.
The dispatcher's log at the sheriff's office indicated the vehicle possibly struck a deer before traveling off the roadway and striking an unknown object or embankment.
The caller reported smoke coming from the vehicle, but it was later determined the smoke was believed to be from the vehicle's air bags.
A sheriff's deputy reported on arrival all four occupants were out of the vehicle and injuries appeared to be minor.
Emergency responders from United Ambulance, Liberty Community Volunteer Fire Department, highway patrol and the sheriff's office were dispatched to the scene.
According to the log, emergency medical personnel and firefighters cleared the scene at 1:31 a.m.
