Clay Twp, OH : Woman seriously injured in car, semi crash on Ohio 49 at Montgomery County Line Road on Thursday, September 11, 2014
A woman was seriously injured earlier this evening in a car, semi crash.
The crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. on Ohio 49 at the intersection with North Montgomery County Line Road.
Sgt. John C. Chesser of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the woman pulled out in front of a semi traveling south on Ohio 49. The woman was driving a silver Toyota that was stopped at the intersection on the northwest side of North (Montgomery) County Line Road, he said.
"The commercial truck driver was unable to stop and struck the Toyota and the Toyota was spun around into another vehicle, which was turning northbound off the other side of North County Line Road," Chesser said.
The Toyota driver was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. Her name, age and hometown were not released.
There were no other injuries, Chesser said.
"The cause of the crash is under investigation, but it appears that the cause of the crash was failure to yield at the stop sign," he said.
