BERWICK, ME : Truck crashes through fence in Berwick on April, Monday 24th 2017
The driver of truck that crashed through a fence on Route 4 Monday afternoon was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
According to a statement from Berwick Police, the crash happened at around 4:30 p.m. at Prime Storage on Portland Street, Route 4, in Berwick.
The cab of the box truck went through the chain link fence and the box of the truck stopped against the fence.
There was considerable damage to the front end of the truck and it could not be driven from the scene and had to be unloaded.
Berwick Police and Fire, as well as American Ambulance responded to the scene and the truck driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
According to Berwick Police Officer Eli Poore, the driver said he swerved to avoid oncoming traffic.
The accident is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
