Pinellas Park ,FL : 78-year-old hospitalized after crash 90th Avenue on thursday , June 25th 2015

At 5:06 pm an officer responded to a report of a single vehicle accident in the 9000 block of 62nd Street N.

Initial reports say that an elderly female was driving her vehicle on 90th Avenue. At some point the woman started to back her vehicle when it ran off the roadway and into a ditch. Civilians began rescue efforts by tying a tow strap to the car to prevent it from flipping over in the standing water.

The woman was extracted by fire and police personnel prior to the vehicle becoming submerged. The woman is being transported to Bayfront Hospital as a "trauma alert".

The 78-year-old female is reported to be in stable condition.
