Clifton man dies after motorcycle accident

Colorado State Patrol officials have confirmed that 60 year old Gene Callender of Clifton died Wednesday night after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash.The Mesa County Coroner's office has released that his cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was an accident.Alcohol, drugs, and speed are all not suspected to have influenced the crash. He was not wearing a helmet.
Witnesses say he was driving erratically for miles before the accident.
Westbound traffic near mile marker 62 was closed for a time, but is now reopened.
