Osprey, FL : Massachusetts man dies in car crash on S.R. 681 in Osprey on Sunday night, April 24, 2016

A fatal accident occurred Sunday night in Osprey, on S.R. 681 near the intersection with U.S. 41, when the driver of a car failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road.

The driver, Anthony Benevento, 68, of Swampscott, Mass., was thrown from the car and killed when it struck a tree and then overturned.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports alcohol was not involved in the accident.
