Marion ,SC : Man struck and killed by car that didn't stop on US 76 in Marion was lying in road on Saturday ,June 13th 2015

Authorities say a man lying in the road has been struck and killed in Marion.

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson told media outlets that Michael Briggs Jr. was hit around 3:30 a.m. Saturday while in the road on U.S. Highway 76 near a gas station.

The driver left the scene, but was later found by police. The investigation continues, and no charges have been filed.

Richardson says an autopsy will be performed on Briggs.
